How should I set my board up for the type of riding I like to do?
(All of these tweaks are subject to personal preference)
- Carving: For carving, use positive angles on both bindings and narrow your stance slightly. Increase forward lean on both bindings, with a little more on your rear binding.
- Halfpipe: For halfpipe riding, the goal is to have maximum edgehold as you power down the transition and across the flattbottom. A wide stance will decrease heel and toe drag. Increasing your forward lean will improve response. Ask at the shop for recommendations on the best combination of stance width and angles specific to your particular setup.
- Terrain Park: For park jumps, a wide stance will help with balance and spinning. Detuning tip and tail edges will decrease the cahnce of carching an edge on landings. Negative angle rear binding placement makes riding swich easier.
- Rails: For handrails and boxes, edge detuning between the feet will help you slide.
