Hybrid bikes

A hybrid bike can be thought of as a fusion between a road bike and a mountain bike. Road bikes are light and fast on the pavement, but some people find the aerodynamic body position puts too much strain on the wrists, back and neck. Mountain bikes excel in rough terrain and can go anywhere, however, they are relatively heavy and hulking on the road. A Hybrid is faster than a mountain bike and more comfortable than a road bike while being fun on pavement or on dirt road and rail rail type terrain.

  • a frame geometry that favors a more upright riding position and stable handling
  • hybrid tires that ride well on pavement, dirt roads, bike paths and rail trails
  • comfort features that sometimes include a suspension fork and seatpost to absorb shock
  • lower gearing than a road bike for easy pedaling up hills

If these sound like the traits you’re looking for in a bike we have lots of great choices from Electra, Trek, and Specialized.  We welcome you come by for a test ride to see which style is right for you.  Check out the hybrid bike types page to find out more about the different styles.
